Capstone week 8 Fady Riad
This week's goal was to get the pressure sensor ready to be tested with the rest of the lab. The setup seemed right after I have done enough research but the pressure sensor was not working still. I switched out the sensor to a new one and after a few tries it is finally working and the setup is ready to be used on our main lab setup.
Dr. Gordon approved my ethics topic and I started to do some research on the topic. There seems to be little information surrounding this issue. But this is what I have found so far, FDA ordered a class I recall of 700 devices after 22 complaints and 3 deaths in 2019.
I also researched the use of laser volume-measuring devices. I came across the LLT100 laser transmitter which could accurately measure level, distance, and position over short and long rangers. We are looking for a device to measure and monitor the change in eye ball volume change over time. If the the volume does not change that means the inflow=outflow, if it increases means inflow > outflow, and if it decreases then outlfow > inflow. I am not sure if this device would work for our purpose but I am still looking into it.
