On Monday, 02/01/2023: I had a meeting with Dr. Gordon for the weekly update.

Met with my team to address the tasks that need to be done in the upcoming weeks. I was assigned to do benchtop testing and set up pressure sensors, I was also assigned to look into FEBio to assist Alex with her work by Dr. Gordon.

During lab time, I caught up on the progress made in manufacturing the valve. I started working on resetting up the pressure sensors with Elvis, helped Kierstin and Brinkley to purge the system of any bubbles to make sure the pressure sensor data is accurate.

I downloaded FEBio software on my desktop to attempt the task assigned by Dr. Gordon. I followed the instructions in the videos, and the simulation worked. I created a tube in FEBio, but when I tried to run it, I was not able to figure out how it worked yet. I need to do more research to understand how the software works. I will meet with Alex tomorrow to check with her.

I went into the lab to start working on the benchtop again. I tried to connect the flow sensor to the school computer, but there were only a few, and none worked. I downloaded the software on my laptop and tested the flow sensor, which worked.

On Tuesday, 02/07/2023:

I went into the lab again to work on the pressure sensors. I went over the document "pressure data" created by the team to compare and replicate data similarly. I created a copy of the document to record my data. I tested the first sensor to try to replicate data to make sure I was on the right track. Tried to get data from the second sensor to convert from voltage to mmHg, but the data was off. After analyzing the system, the second half of the system (before the pouch) was disconnected from the rest, which resulted in the second pressure sensor not getting any flow. I fixed and purged the system, but there was still no flow. Brinkley tried to assist me in troubleshooting the system but no luck. Water started to flow backward, I used a syringe to add water into the system since it was possible the pouch was not full, and water was flowing backward to fill the empty space. After troubleshooting multiple times, I tried to get data from the pressure sensor, but the voltage would not change regardless of changing the water column height.
